It’s common knowledge that scene-wide support and collaboration has been at the forefront of the latest UK Garage revival since it’s re-emergence. And whilst the pandemic continues to limit the events industry, no doubt restrict many potential link-ups and impromptu B3B’s, it’s a joy to pay witness to the creative projects that continue to flourish within the community.
Luckily for us, two rising stars in the scene, Peaky Beats and Pinder joined up in the studio just before sh*t hit the fan and boshed out a collaborative EP in fine fashion. The Leeds based boys have each, in their own right, built themselves a reputation for their highly textured, dark 2-step. Peaky followed up his debut release with two collaborative tracks with JDessar of Equal People Records (as Core Syndicate) on 002. This time he invites fellow Dimsum Records affiliate Pinder (Dr Banana/Instinct) and together they quite quickly show they’re no strangers when in the studio together.
We premiere ‘Up North’, the 4/4 shuffler, which bumps and wiggles throughout and brings with it a Hi-NRG summertime mood that’s sits refreshingly amongst the three accompanied 2-Step cuts.
PBR003 is set for 700 units, the label are providing inspiration for budding label owners on the how-to of DIY distro’.
